The E.P. Carrillo INCH Maduro No. 70 is an exceptionally large, handmade premium cigar created for adult smokers who appreciate rich Maduro flavours, substantial ring gauges and extended smoking sessions.

Measuring 7 inches with a 70 ring gauge, the No. 70 is the largest vitola in the INCH Maduro collection. Its generous dimensions allow the blend to incorporate more filler tobacco than a conventional cigar, creating a slow-burning experience with dense smoke, layered flavour and gradual development.

The cigar is covered by a dark USA Broadleaf Maduro wrapper that contributes sweetness, earthiness and a rich aroma. Beneath it is an Ecuadorian binder, surrounding a carefully balanced combination of Dominican and Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos.

Its medium-to-full-strength profile begins with sweet earth, cedar and warm spice. As the cigar develops, deeper nuances of cocoa, leather, roasted coffee, pepper and natural tobacco sweetness emerge. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering woody, earthy and subtly sweet Maduro notes.

The E.P. Carrillo INCH series was designed specifically around large ring gauges rather than simply enlarging a blend made for a smaller cigar. This allows the tobacco proportions to remain balanced across the broad 70-ring-gauge format.

Handmade in the Dominican Republic, the INCH Maduro No. 70 is intended for leisurely smoking occasions. Its large size requires sufficient time, a wide-opening cigar cutter and a lighter capable of evenly toasting its substantial foot.

Flavor Profile

The E.P. Carrillo INCH Maduro No. 70 delivers a rich and gradually developing Maduro profile that may include:

  • Sweet earth
  • Dark cocoa
  • Roasted coffee
  • Leather
  • Cedar
  • Black pepper
  • Warm spice
  • Natural tobacco sweetness
  • Woody undertones
  • A long, smooth finish

The wide ring gauge creates a greater filler-to-wrapper ratio than a slimmer cigar. This gives the Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos a prominent role while the USA Broadleaf Maduro wrapper adds sweetness, depth and aroma.

Why Choose This Cigar?

Many oversized cigars are created by adapting an existing blend to a wider format. The E.P. Carrillo INCH Maduro No. 70 belongs to a collection specifically developed to celebrate large ring gauges.

Its 70-ring-gauge format allows Ernesto Perez-Carrillo to use a broader combination of filler leaves, creating a layered blend that balances the sweetness of USA Broadleaf Maduro with the earth, spice and complexity of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos.

The result is a substantial cigar with rich smoke production, gradual flavor development and a long smoking duration. Its notes of cocoa, coffee, leather, cedar and spice make it particularly suitable for smokers who enjoy darker Maduro profiles.

The No. 70 is not designed for a quick smoke. It is better suited to occasions when enough time is available to let the cigar burn slowly and reveal its full range of flavors.

Cutting and Lighting Guidance

Because of its 70 ring gauge, this cigar may not fit standard cutters with smaller openings. Use a large-ring-gauge double-guillotine cutter, cigar scissors or a suitable punch cutter.

Remove only a small section of the cap to avoid damaging the wrapper. Check the cold draw before lighting to ensure suitable airflow.

Toast the wide foot slowly and evenly without placing the flame directly against the tobacco. Rotate the cigar while lighting until the entire foot develops an even glow.

A multi-flame torch lighter can make lighting the broad foot easier, but avoid prolonged direct heat, as overheating may create harsh or bitter flavors.

Smoking Guidance

Smoke the E.P. Carrillo INCH Maduro No. 70 slowly and allow sufficient time between puffs. Large cigars can generate considerable heat if smoked too quickly.

Rotate the cigar occasionally if one side begins burning faster than the other. Touch up only the affected section instead of repeatedly applying flame to the entire foot.

Storage Instructions

Store the cigar in a properly maintained humidor at approximately 65–70% relative humidity and around 18–21°C.

Keep it away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture and strong odours. Due to its 70 ring gauge, ensure the humidor has enough space to store the cigar without pressing it against other cigars.
